Title: What will happen when forums are gone?

XWARREN,

We have the one week notice of loosing these forums.  What will happen then?  Is the last update you have the last?

Interested in knowing what comes next?

As far as communication, I'm hoping people will join here as a way of replacing these forums: http://groups.google.com/group/nwnprc.

As far as updates, I can't speak to xwarren's plans beyond the fact that he's currently working on what sounds like some pretty big changes (I certainly hope he keeps up the good work after this site closes!), but there's no technical reason that the updates should stop when this site goes down. The code is already hosted on an external site (SourceForge), and there's no reason that updates couldn't be posted there as well as in NWVault.

It sounds like at least some of the information on this site will remain available here, although (with permission) someone else could host it elsewhere as well. I might be able to do some of it, and DM Heatstroke once said "If the PRC needs webspace / storage they have a standing invitation from me" (http://nwnprc.com/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=948&highlight=heatstroke&pid=4692#post_4686).

i joind in as well, guys, i could add a section on our forums for you if ud like, our forum is http://nordockchronicles.freeforums.org/index.php.
its a spanish forum, though everyone knows eng. we use prc and users experience might help.

tell me if ud like some nwn-prc section added there! we are more than willing to host u guys, specially after all your work!

btw, freeforums.org provides excelent forums, no issue till now, only some lame adds that admins nor moderators see. totaly free!

I'm still going to work on development of PRC Pack ;) (I have a few ideas I would like to implement in NWN) and as CapnQ said - no reason why we couldn't update the PRC Pack (as long as there are people that are willing to do so).

Yes - the forums will be down, but we knew this will happen since January.

I've asked Anaxite to archive this forum, so I hope we won't loose any information. I don't know how does forum transfer work, so I'm not sure how could we move to another host.

Well, some good news. DM_Heatstroke has offered to keep hosting PRC forums. He says he can migrate over all the usernames and content to his site at http://prc.athasreborn.com/index.php.

I'll hold up shutting this down until I can determine whether or not it will work. If it will, he may be able to migrate absolutely all forum posts over.

I don't know how this will work with regards to Google Groups, but, we'll see what works.
