Title: Do maneuvers have no attack animation?

Whenever I use a maneuver, I get no animation at all. The character just stands still and then I get the damage/miss message pop-up above the enemy.

Is this normal?

Because of how we do things, mostly yes.

Aww, too bad! :( Was hoping for a sword swing or something of the kind
