Title: Epic Spells
Post by: JGN on June 24, 2009, 12:22:03 PM
I have a problem with the new epic spells system.

Seems almost everywhere in every mod i play i'm never allowed to reaserch a spell. I tried to export the character in a build mod i know epic spells can be reaserched (at least if i build a new char from level 1 inside that mod) too, but didn't work.

Someone can help? Thanks.

No. But i can research epic spells without take it (i mean, if i build a char from the start in a "safe" mod).

Since when "epic spellcasting" feat is required in PRC epic spells system?

Let me say, the old epic lab was perfect. Don't know why they changed things.

I can't tell you exact version, but it's been quite some time now (I remember reading about it on old forum).

Well, I don't know why are you able to research epic spells without it - maybe you have older version of PRC installed on that mod?

Epic lab area was removed (no going back ;) ), but the new system has exactly the same functionality.

Tip: to get epic spellcasting feat you'll need Spellcraft and Lore of 24 and ability to cast 9th level spells.

Don't know. Maybe.

Anyway, i'll give a try taking the feat. Thanks.

It was removed because it was bloated and heavy and slowed down modules it was in.

I also have a problem with epic spellcasting. Even with the epic spellcasting feat I still can't research epic spells. I actually created a wiz lvl 40 just to see if I needed 21 levels in the same spell casting class but it still wouldn't work. No icons appear in the epic spellcasting radial menu. Is there something I need to do before a try accessing the epic spell laboratory?

There is no epic spell laboratory in the recent versions of PRC.  You have to take the feat for casting epic spells as part of your level up progression, per PnP.  If you don't have the feat, you won't be able to do epic spells at all.  Accessing the epic spells after you have the feat is accomplished via the PRC options menu... you can buy the spells and seeds from there.  If you are playing on a PW that uses a current version of the PRC, the PW may have a merchant some place if the PRC options menu has been turned off.

Right click on your character.  It's in the class radials.
