Title: Audio files do not work on spellcasting when using custom races
Post by: ChestRockwell on August 31, 2013, 11:29:01 PM
I have the latest version of the PRC installed and I also have the Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition with the most recently updated patches, etc.  Anyways, I've noticed whenever I create a character and choose a race other then the default ones that came with the game(like aasimar, tiefling, etc.) if this character has magic he does not say anything during spellcasting the way characters normally do in the game.  The spells still work and the animations work, it's just the sound of the spell itself being spoken is gone.

Is this a fixable problem?  Or is it just something you have to deal with if you intend to use one of the non-default races?  I am using the program "Character Creator" 1.8 in order to make my characters.  Perhaps I have done something wrong in the options so I will post what mine are like:

In the settings, the "use custom talk?" box is checked and the file "prconsortium.tlk" file is selected.  Under that the "use default tlk?" is also checked and under that there is no .tlk file selected.  So am I doing something wrong?

It is a known issue, and I am sorry, but there is nothing we can do about this. You are probably doing everything right. BioWare hardcoded casting voices to be only active for default player races - NWN coders didn't foresee that someone will add new player races in future.
