I was curious as to whether or not there were any PRC compatibility haks for HotU-style AI anywhere online (i.e., the AI override scripts found in that NWN expansion). I ask this mainly for two reasons:

1.) I really prefer using a straightforward method of AI creation as opposed to trial-and-error (e.g., the default nw_i0_generic.nss script always seems to use certain abilities for NPCs but not others, thus I have to poke around the ability list for ones that nw_i0_generic.nss will actually execute).

2.) While I am a fairly accomplished scripter, and therefore could probably create my own custom AI scripts, I would rather not have to do so if the work has already been done for me.

If someone here could help me with this problem, that would be greatly appreciated.

Spells, Feats, and Skills / A question about epic spell research
« on: November 14, 2010, 01:32:06 PM »
I have an interesting question about the PRC spell system, and this concerns epic spell research. My character has the proper seeds learned (and then some) to actually research the spell, not to mention the gold and XP requirements. However, the epic spell tome's Use Unique Power effect only describes what the spell does; examining the tome, though, gives a rather vague clue as to what needs to be done: it states that I need to find the proper locale (and class-dependent, at that) in which to research the spell. What exactly might these locations be for the various spellcasting classes, and where?

Help / Inability to acquire a certain epic feat
« on: October 20, 2010, 10:22:54 PM »
What's up, folks? The problems with basic character creation and dynamic item property allocation having been solved, I now have come across a new quandry. This one concerns the Ignore Material Components epic feat.

My character has all the prerequisites for the IMC feat (i.e., ability to cast 9th level arcane / divine spells, Spellcraft 25 ranks, Eschew Material Components, epic character), so one would think that I'd be able to select this frigging feat as either a standard feat (the one selected every third character level) or as a class bonus feat, right? Wrong! Whenever I attempt to select the feat, I receive a console message, something akin to:

"Character is incapable of casting 9th level spells."
"Character has lost a level."

I didn't catch the message verbatim; however, the gist is correct in all respects. Could someone let me know just what the heck is going on here? Because I have a Wiz26 character that's dying to obtain the IMC feat, but can't get it due to some glitch - either on my end or on that of the code. Thanks again for your time.

Help / Trying to find some constants...
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:52:05 PM »
Whats up? Here's my latest situation: I'm trying to create an item using the Toolkit that essentially has the potential to add bonus spell slots for its owner to itself, the class id of the item properties being determined by the primary class of the owner. This whole schema will be triggered through the item's OnAcquire event.

The only problem is as follows: I'm trying to include the .nss file containing the IP_CONST_CLASS_* constants for the PRC classes into the item's tag script; however, I don't know which .nss file that is (if it even exists). Does anyone know what file this is, if any? Thank you for your attention.

Help / A Major Problem Concerning Character Creation
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:35:11 PM »
Sorry it took me so long to respond... Anyways, once I set up the PRC Character Creator (and created the obligatory "portraits" folder in the NWN home folder), everything worked just fine for me. Thanks!

Help / A Major Problem Concerning Character Creation
« on: October 16, 2010, 11:57:24 AM »
I'm having a serious problem with the PRC in regards to character creation. I've injected the PRC into the module(s) with which I want it to be used. However, when I go to create a new character using the hacked modules, the PRC content appears, but is grayed out, and therefore can't be selected. What could be causing this? Any help at all in this matter would be appreciated.
