I gave the Psion a try.  During the prelude, I was asked to blow up the statue using my powers.  I only had mind Thrust available (the other two powers only cast directly on myself).  Unfortunately, Mind Thrust does not affect the statue (can't target it).  So I am stuck.

What does psionic focus do?  I know that you need it to cast some spells, but does it do anything else?

Psionic focus is an additional use of concentration skill. Read more here It's required for some psionic powers/feats, but it doesn't do anything on it's own.
