Since then I have tried resetting windows 7 to factory settings, and I thoroughly messed with the ini files. I have tried Nwn with both the 3.3 prc, and 3.5 prc. I have not used nwnx2 on this computer, but I have tried connecting it to nwnx2 running on another computer in the network. I have tried loading several chapters from the original campaign.
ok, I just tried starting nwnx2, and got some off errors about missing files, and unable to recognize java, which I don't understand, since java runtime is installed, and the character creator works fine.
So from the beginning here. If it doesn't work this time I blame you, not because its your fault, but your the DM, and I'm a player, and thats how us d&d players think.
I deleted the nwn folder, I ran the neverwinter uninstall, I searched the registry for 'nwn', 'prc' and 'never' strings. I deleted anything related to the game. I installed nwn diamond edition into a non-default directory(previous 50 installs were default). I ran the HOTU 1.69 patch. I reinstalled java.
I gave the game a little test run by going to multiplayer, and hosting a internet/lan game. It loads up nice and fast.
Now for prc, I install the program with setup3.5. I select prc_ocfix and then selected the nwn original campaign. I let it overwrite whatever pleased it.
I start it up, same problem. Freezes at unpacking module. Going to send ini files in another reply, and I'll try installing nwnx2 and joining a game hosted by this computer
