I just saw 'Gain template' in PRC Options. I searched in the manual & forum for details, but couldn't find enough information... and then I read this from d20:

B)

Now I wonder how it works in great PRC 3.3H... Could someone please tell me the details? Is that the same if I gain this template at Lv1 or 40?

BTW: I think my Bralani Eradrin looks a little strange with this template... do the abilities such as spell resistence conflict?

Thanx!

It is an inherited (at least PRC version is) template, so you can only gain it at level 1 ;p but the abilities will scale with your level (stronger smites, better SR, new spell-like abilities etc). It works in very similar way as described (we don't have some SLA's, sorry).

AFAIK Bralani Eladrin is an outsider, and i think outsiders can't select half-celestial template, but i could be wrong here. You will have both spell resistances applied, but they don't stack - only the higher will be used against spells.

You're welcome!

Thanx Monseigneur xwarren!

Sorry for my careless again... I found the introduction in the feats list. And my chaotic good Bralani Eladrin really CAN select this template:P (in fact only 3 options: half-celestial, half-dragon & necroxxxxx)

I remember asking about this a while ago on the old board, but I don't think there are any actual restrictions based on stuff like pre-existing type, so long as the Template doesn't itself list any such restrictions. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to do something like run Alienist as a Rakshasa because I'm already an Outsider.

Another example would be a Rakshasa Lich (not demilich, would be redundant then)...it shouldn't be possible, lorewise (since a Rakshasa is an outsider, an outsider's soul and body are inseperable, it's why normal resurrection spells don't work on them, so they wouldn't be able to store their soul in a phylactary either), but there's no restrictions in NWN to stop that sort of thing (though a PW could restrict it).

So it's possible to make some rather rediculously powerful class/race combinations if you're willing to ignore lore and similar things. (Nothing would stop you from making a Chaotic Evil Hound Archon Blackguard, for instance)
