I need your opinion on something ;)

Currently Harper Scout class is using BioWare feat-spells. What would you say if i converted the class to use new spellbook system?

At the moment the class has no casting stat requirement and 1 casting of lvl 1 spell (Sleep) and 3 castings of lvl 2 spells (invisibility, cat's grace, eagle's splendor). After conversion it would require Charisma of 10+spell level to cast a spell and have broader spell selection, but less 2-nd lvl spell uses.

???

Sounds good the Harper Scout is a bit of a weak class due to the lack of decent abilities you get from it.

Sounds good to me.  That will also allow them to take PrCs like Dragon Disciple, right?

I am all for this; rebalancing where possible is always nice.

... Though, I am curious to know whether the Harper Scout's "Spells" are supposed to be actual Spells, or Spell-like Abilities; the main reason for doing this would be buffing Harper Scout so it can do stuff like qualify for PrCs that need spellcasting to begin with. If they're just supposed to be Spell-likes, then it would be better to just leave 'em alone. >_>

from "Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting"
"Begining at 1st level, a harper scout gains the ability to cast a small number of arcane spells. The harper scout's ability to cast spells works exactely like a bard's ability to cast spells (they are charisma-based and do not need to be prepared"

means, they're really spells, not spell-like abilities :3

Yes, I agree that it gives the class greater possibilities, and it is more consistent with PNP--it seems a no-brainer in that way.

It seems this didn't happen :(. I assumed the Harper scout will gain actual arcane spells and now I can't pick arcane archer class  ::).

Edit: The manual has a spellbook section for Harper scout. Why did I not get those spells?

Your character needs at least 11 points of charisma to cast HS spells. If it's not the case, then I don't know what's wrong. I'll test that when I get back home.

Well I found the spells in the radial menu not the actual spellbook. However if I set my CHA to 11 I still don't have any spells until I take another harper scout level. Even then I only gain the level 1 spells so I am missing 1 level.

I am going to assume this is a feature? If not any way to debug myself without rolling back?

EDIT: Fixed with leto though I seem to be missing 1 life point :D.

Spell per day table for Harper Scout
Quote
Level SpellLevel0 SpellLevel1 SpellLevel2 SpellLevel3
1 **** 0 **** ****
2 **** 1 **** ****
3 **** 1 0 ****
4 **** 1 1 ****
5 **** 1 1 0
0 means that he can cast spells only if his spellcasting ability score allows for bonus spells for that level - this means that only Harper Scouts with 16+ charisma score can cast 3rd level spells.
