Hello, I just took the "Craft Construct" feat and well... I have no idea how to use it, I looked for it and I can't find anything that would enable me crafting any golem. I tried "examining and crafting" on a golem, i've tried general crafting but I still have no idea how to even begin with this. Can anyone help me with this?

According to the manual you need a construct recipe, just like the other crafting feats.

Unfinished feats should be remarked from the 2das. :(

Yeah...Craft Construct has been in its unusable state ever since they changed the crafting system from recipe-based to what it is now...I suspect it's a sort of "Well we could remove it but someone might decide to finish it!" thing.

Though it's been...a pretty long time. xD Ditto for Craft Rod, as well.

How hard would it be to restore just the part of recipe crafting that worked with golems?  We already have the dialogue that permits purchase of spells, spell materials, crafting materials, and, for those who qualify, epic spell books.  Couldn't an option be added  for those with the "Craft Construct" feat to buy "golem kits" such as used to be sold in the epic spell lab ?  Forgive my ignorance of the scripting process, but it seems as if the general structure for such a thing already exists, as well as scripts for either the old golem kits from the spell lab or golem recipes from recipe crafting.

The ability to create golems, while not essential to game play, would certainly be a fun addition, and fully consistent with role-playing a spellcaster who specialized in crafting.

The problem is that IIRC golem crafting never worked :P

craft rod has never worked with the new crafting system I would also beg that if its made to work move the number from base items 2da to any other available unused spot but thats pie in the sky as it conflcited with some 400 items made on Moonsea and well........ there are no rods as of current.

For the record, the epic spell lab did sell golem kits that enabled epic level casters to create golems.  They weren't feat based, but at least the script for them must exist somewhere...

Do you remember making a golem or just being able to the buy the kits? If you can recall being able to make the golems. Then you should be able to hunt down the code by looking at either an old version of the repository, or by downloading an old version of PRC.

It could be you just remember the kits being there, but never tried using them. It would be nice if the code was laying around.

The kits didn't work, if I recall correctly. And it was buggy as heck too. The recipe based golems were wonky as well. It's unfortunately something that just never got finished (the person who started work on it didn't finish it, and I assume it's a mess of code or something. xD)

I remember distinctly buying a kit and using it to make a golem.  However, the kits were dropped when recipe based crafting was introduced, and shortly thereafter the epic spells lab itself was removed.  Still, the original code is doubtless around somewhere.
