General Discussion / Re: New to PRC
« on: July 15, 2011, 01:24:25 AM »
I just loaded PRC 3.4 on my wife's and my pcs. When we start a new character we can not pick any of the PRC base classes.
Dont know what LETO is, but I tried the Character Creator and no luck there either.

Please note that creating characters normally without using the PRC Character Creator(PRC CC) would be extremely limited. You must use PRC CC to play a Wood elf as the default for Elf in NWN is the Moon Elves and trying to use the subrace option won't matter. The base classes are also locked the original lines even if PRC added them in as PRC base classes like Marshal or Warlock will be locked from being chosen in the first level (They can however be chosen at the next level and the following.). Prestige classes are locked for the usual reason of not having the requirements.

Have you loaded the haks and erf into the PRC CC? You'll only need to do it once as the settings auto-save. This is to load the contents of PRC into the PRC CC.

LETO (available for the latest NWN version) is a very useful Character Editor that covers almost everything and there's a PRC version (it's outdated in PRC content, you will find that feats and classes are missing but it's still somewhat useful) of it. However, if LETO is used for abnormal characteristics like higher skills not corresponding to the level or abilities being weird, the character will be locked out of almost any server. This rule also goes out to characters edited by the Debug console ingame.

We have tried logging into a couple of the PW's that say they have PRC, but we can not get in (the error message is too fast to read)

There's a few reasons for this,
1. Your hak and erf were not installed properly (I doubt this but still a possibility) or your using the wrong version accordingly to the server. Check the server's version of PRC and use the installer for a clean, proper setup of PRC.
2. The server is currently suffering scripting problems to connect online along for its' members. This is because the Neverwinter Nights Master Servers are down (NWN Authentication Server Down) which is needed for Player World servers along with online gaming in NWN to work. Bioware is currently fixing the server but some people became somewhat impatient which got them to script around the authentication and providing members the settings to get in. However, a lot are unsuccessful if not done right and would show the long error mentioned. For more information, check out http://social.bioware.com/%3C/span%3Ehttp:/social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/199/index/7715716/1 (The discussion in the link should also have the working script for the host of the server to work around the authentication.) (This is NOT needed for LAN play.)
3. Your missing extra haks, etc of the server. Check throughly over all files needed.
4. Anything else, should be concerning data, scripting or errors from either side.

Also my wife notices that her existing Cleric no longer has Cat's Grace as a available spell.  Is this spell no longer available to clerics?

Like what xwarren said, the Cleric lacks a lot of spells in PRC because of the domains have been revised strictly to be more closer to PnP (explaining the new domains). For your case, one of your two domains must be the Animal domain to use Cat's Grace and the following spells under that domain. For more information over domains in the PRC, you can check out the latest yet outdated PRC manual (PRC v3.3 but it should still have the right information as not everything changes from the last version to the next.). You can also ask here or search the forums for topic concerning your needs.

Do we still need to 'merge' the PRC and CEP haks?

Yes, you have to. Like what xwarren said, go to the Vault site and download the merge.

I downloaded LETO. Not very user friendly.

LETO is meant more towards editing characters and experimentation. As said earlier, use the PRC CC.

Lastly, enjoy your time in Neverwinter Nights and I hope this helped. If you need anything else, ask here or make a new topic in the Help section if it's off-topic.

Thanks xwarren.
So as we update our PRC, all our haks get replaced and our characters just follow up? And if any of the .erf files change, how do we use the back-ups? Also, where are the OC modules and back-ups located? I can't seem to find them in my module folder.

Help / O.C PRC Updating
« on: July 04, 2011, 11:39:29 PM »
I've been searching for an answer for this for quite a while.
When we add in PRC for the Official Campaigns, Premium Modules and any other Module; How do we update the following to the latest PRC or we don't and have to do back ups then add in the latest PRC for them?

Sorry if I sound really silly at the moment. Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Re: Leto for the PRC
« on: July 04, 2011, 11:30:34 PM »
I second this. A working Leto for PRC would really help out in a lot of things. Including testing out several feats and tricks to see if their glitched or have a problem.

Edit: Maybe someone can make a version of Leto that works like the Character Creator where it can load haks and the erf. It would make it flexible and it wouldn't need an update unless Leto itself had problems.
