Hey, i love what you did with all the new prestige classes. But i've been busy to get this to work with Aielund saga mod(they have some new beta's that work with CEP2). The PRC runs, but for example duskblade doesn't get any new spells. I manually edited the mod (Edited all the strings with Executescript... etc), because the automatic updater didn't work. I also downloaded a merged PRC/CEP tlk/hak and included it in the module but this didn't work either.
So i decided to make a my own merge following the instructions in the manual, but once i have a CEP2 start module and try to auto update it says that TLk files can't be merged.
Also when i use the summon undead 1 spell (in OC), instead of a human skelleton i get a dwarf in underpants o_0
Well i hope somebody can help, cause i would love to play the Aielund saga again with some friends :)
-
Ok nevermind it works now ^_^ Still have the naked dwarf bug though but that's just a minor inconvenience. What i did was i made a manual merged TLK of PRC and CEP and then deleted the tlk insert in the prcpack.hif file (that made the module updater automatically insert the rest and then i added the tlk in the toolset. :)
-
Mm sorry for triple posting :P
But we tried playing online, but we found two bugs:
first, once second or third player joined the game, all items where removed from the inventory of the other players, leaving them naked.
secondly no XP for kills, though without PRC and in Singleplayer i did got XP for kills.
So sadly it became unplayable after an hour or so :(

Aelund Saga is a known mod that doesn't work with the PRC without heavy editing.

Hi, newbie builder here. I have looked in a number of different places, but I haven't found updated answers to the following questions. And, I thought this would be a great place for people to find it.
1. Is prc 3.3 compatible with cep 2.2b?
2. If so, is "prccep2_merge" the right merge hak to use?
3. If prc 3.3 is compatible with cep 2.2b, is "prccep" still the right tlk file to use or is there a new one?
4. Do you have a recommended hak priority order for builders using both prc 3.3 and CEP 2.2? (I have an older looking list, which appears to be working with at least minimal functionality)
5. Is prc 3.3 compatible with CRAP 312?
6. If so, what order do you recommend for the haks? What is the tlk file to use?
7. If prc 3.3 is not currently compatible with cep 2.2b, do you plan to update?
8. If prc 3.3 is not currently compatible with CRAP 312, do you plan to make it so?
Thank you. Any help you could offer would be most appreciated.
Thanks!
-
Alzarian) I believe the two are compatible, but you'll have to make your own merge hak by making a dummy module with the PRC and CEP (and a few others, possibly, I'm not too sure) as the only hak files.

1. Is prc 3.3 compatible with cep 2.2b?
Yes sort of (prc only works with the core CEP, extra stuff is probably incompatible)
2. If so, is "prccep2_merge" the right merge hak to use?
3. If prc 3.3 is compatible with cep 2.2b, is "prccep" still the right tlk file to use or is there a new one?
The right one to use is usually on our download page, however the vault entry hasn't been updated in a while, so you'll want to use this one (http://prc.theamberdragon.com/files/prccep2_merge.rar)
4. Do you have a recommended hak priority order for builders using both prc 3.3 and CEP 2.2? (I have an older looking list, which appears to be working with at least minimal functionality)
The one in the merge hak readme is the one to use. But it's basically merge at the top, prc next, cep last.
5. Is prc 3.3 compatible with CRAP 312?
no (or at least I doubt it)
6. If so, what order do you recommend for the haks? What is the tlk file to use?
See above, use the merge tlk
8. If prc 3.3 is not currently compatible with CRAP 312, do you plan to make it so?
no

it's not quite compatible with 3.3g - no Dread Necromancer, Mystic and Noble in tlk, messed entries for new spellbooks
Made my own merge - not sure if everything is ok though :P
http://www.easy-share.com/1906635493/prccep2_merge.rar
-
I'll give it a test run.
Character Creator now has problems with the mystic, noble and the dread necromancer.
The older version only had problems with just the first two.
Btw, it looks like the one you just linked to is actually older than the one posted earlier in the thread (2-4-2009 vs. 19-5-2009). So both aren't working like they're supposed to.
-
Sorry, I rarely use it - this one was made for PRC 3.3f2, my bad :|
Thanks for pointing this out ;) I send a new merge tlk as an attachement. (tested - worked well)
Compared Fluffy's hak and mine - turns out they're almost identical (some minor differences), so I guess tlk is causing the problem - I'll check tomorrow, and upload new merge if needed.

Can't add that big attachement. So here is the link to it:

I see a big difference in size from this hak and tlk to the f2 one any clues on what all was removed? Anything we might miss and thanks in advance! I was wondering why all these nobles and mystics were screaming.

i have noticied in some tlk`s ago and even in this one my imunity % list are broken in toolset with some weird names of spells instead of number of % imunity
10% imunity acid is now called anti-paladin spell bla bla bla and similars...
this is only happend to me?
-
I have checked the tlk - everything is OK.
Are you sure you have the haks in correct order?
-
sorry for the wrong report
the error was in the cep_custom hak with a pile of crap things that i have downloaded to test the pw of my friend...
-
Hey, I tried doing the hak merge with the files listed above and it still isn't working, getting the "The module and custom content contain tlk files that cannot be merged. The module update will be aborted". I did an update with CEP using its own updater, could that have effected it?

Only if it also modifies modules. If it just alters CEP files, then no. You need to open the module before adding the PRC to it and remove the cep tlk file. Then run the module updater with the merge. This will install the PRC and the merge content.
-
Yikes the final release of G seems to need a new TlK as all my blackguard spells are no longer happy with the update. Casting masochism now says " you have no more casting of summon undead" blah blah" and thats no fun at parties.
-
I'm a total newb to PRC and I've got some questions.
I downloaded the prcpack/installer and updated all my modules. On many of these it generated "merge files'.
I then downloaded the prccep2 and manually placed the hif, hak, & tlk files in the hak & tlk folders respectively.
So, my questions are:
Have I done this right or have I totally screwed things up?
If I've totally screwed things up then how do I fix it?
-
Has anyone made a PRC3.3g and CEP 2 merge tlk yet?
-
I belive fluffy has. Here is the link for the most recent tlk file:
http://daprc.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/daprc/nwn/prccomp/trunk/prccep.tlk?revision=66&view=markup
-
Thank you Fluffy! Thanks for pointing it out xwarren. I really did not feel like merging the two myself.
-
I hope that this is on topic here.
I am new to custom content in general and am working on my first server using haks. After looking around at what is out there I would really like to use the latest versions of the following resources that are mergeable. If anyone has suggestions or hints I would be appreciative.
- CEP
- PRC
- C.R.A.P.
- Alternate Combat Animations
some other systems I can add later
I am a little confused and overwhelmed on what versions to use.
From reading Fluffy's reply above on the first page it seems that I might have to combine the scripts for C.R.A.P. by hand? Yikes!
I am starting from an empty module so if anyone can point me in the direction of a base or core module they could give me with these already working that would be even better. I was thinking of even using one of the cep starter modules as a beginning point.
Also horses are not a big deal for me but if anyone has a suggestion on what is better to use with the above system. I thought I read in the rpc guide that the CEP ones are not workable with PRC.
Lastly I am totally willing to share my work or finished product with anyone that would like a look.
Thanks so much, Vecna
-
CEP or CEP2?
I thought the CEP2 had C.R.A.P. in it already? I also thought that the PRC had the ACP in it now as well.
-
Hello Heatstroke:
In a perfect word I would install
cep 2.2 (updated yesterday through the CEP installer)
PRC (version that is on the downloads page, not sure what that is)
and yes, C.R.A.P. is in the CEP download, that is why I would like to include it. Plus I really like the systems they have as opposed to HCR.
But on the first page of this thread I belive Fluffy suggests that implementing PRC will break the cunftionality of the C.R.A.P. systems. I cannot tell from the PRC documentation if alternate combat animations are included or what versions are if so.

Well I have all 4 of them in the mod I've been working on, but I haven't messed with the C.R.A.P. stuff so I don't know if it would be broken or not. I think the ACP conflicts with some of the horse phenos in the CEP2 (or maybe 1.69?) 2DAs but since there aren't any horses on Athas I just let the PRC phenotype.2da take precedence.

Greetings, probably a fundamental question here, but I'm at a bit of a loss.
After fitting PRC into my module, I am now having difficulty getting the door graphics that were initially in the CEP to display properly in game and in the toolset. This includes the Steamworks door, remodded Wood Doors, and some of the jail doors.
Initially it had also disabled all the CEP creature graphics altogether, but I managed to work around that.
Any suggestions?

Im posting a not finished discussion from the chat room. Hoping some one can shed some light on it.
so my question is. I got diamond 1.69 installed - ran cep 2.2, ran cep 2.2 updater. installed PRC 3.3g Ran updater. followed the manual's instruction on prc module updater. used prcc2 to update modules. I created 2 new characters, one was a healer. Using java player creator. Many of the spells are not named correctly.
So I think i got it mostly figured out.
i re did the merge using. prc_pack and prc_ocfix. it works now but the module does not have the merge hack or and cep haks in it.
i just tried prcc2(cep2.2 prc3.3g merge) then applied prc_ocfix. back to the same problem.
I included screen of contest of champions properties. After only using the prcc2 merge files. I figured coc it would be a good place to test the merge.
If i use the merge files i get the messed up spells problem. If I just use the prc files it works fine.
Any thoughts? I tried this in the original Modules as well. Same results. I am using back up modules from 1.69 with CEP2.2 installed.
Though when i look in the backup modules. There are not any cep haks installed. I assume this is correct.
Still if the merge hak has the cep in it. shouldn't that work?
Pls help!!
-
Incorrect spell names might indicate problems with tlk file. If the spells are OK in original PRC (without merge hak) this is probably the case. Have you tried the most recent merge-tlk?
http://daprc.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/daprc/nwn/prccomp/trunk/prccep.tlk?revision=66&view=markup

Thanks soooooo much. That worked.
I would like to say. If you post a link that has files that do not work. Please update them or just make everyone us the SVN.
The one from downloads is broken.
The prccep .tlk and prc_consortium.tlk files have been updated since the prccepmerge.rar was made and posted.
Anyway. Thanks again!
-
The CEP merge on the vault is nearly always behind the current version as I tend to stick them up on my site and SVN as soon as I do them rather than waiting for it to get updated there. You shouldn't try merging the 2 tlks yourself as the CEP has stuff in our reserved tlk space.
PRC doesn't have the ACP4 animations, but it does have their phenotypes referenced in our phenotypes.2da and the modifications to our baseitems.2da needed for some of the styles to work as intended. This was partly because PRC's baseitems needs very careful merging with anything to make sure the prc stuff isn't accidentally overwritten. Mostly it was because I like playing NWN with ACP added and thought I may as well add the changes to the PRC.
-
Still having trouble with getting the door graphics to work again, I don't know if it was referenced in the previous posts unfortunately since another question was posted right after.
Definitely having trouble now as all my no-appearance doors as well have disappeared and has forced me to rebuild my area transitions in dungeons.

Could you give us some more info? Which version of PRC and CEP are you using? Do you use PRCCEP merge or some other haks?
AFAIK PRC does not include doortypes.2da file, and I'm not sure what could cause the problem you described.

Apologies, forgot to add that.
I am using CEP 2.0 and according to what I recall I downloaded the most recent PRC version available. CEP 2.0 came with door graphics (Steamworks door, wood jail door, etc.) that seemed to have been disabled when I installed PRC.
Note: I found a work-around with the no-appearance doors for now by having all those doors appear as an already-open Force Field door (Yes I still get the blue smoke effect, but I was able to cancel that by altering the area lighting).
Thanks for taking the time to address my issue here, the PRC has been a powerful tool for my module so far!

CEP2.0 is not compatible with the 1.69 patch. The first version that was done for 1.69 was 2.1. The PRC requires the 1.69 patch to work. Also, as the CEP are up to 2.2 now, then I guess that's probably the version you should be using. Particularly as I think they moved the doors between 2.0 and 2.1 because Bioware added a load in the patch.

Alright, thank you for the update, I went ahead and upgraded CEP to 2.2 this evening.
It appears this has actually caused a slightly different problem, I am unsure how this occured though.
Now not only are the doors no longer appearing, but when I attempt to open the toolset, all of the custom content that came with CEP2.2 has now been blanked out. While it is still selectable, it no longer possesses its information as it did before.
I now have CEP 2.2 installed, is there anything else I am missing?
My guess is it's the order I have the hak paks in, but I want to be sure before I attempt anything.

Check if you have the right tlk file. For CEP 2.2 it's 'cep22_v1.tlk' ;p

Okay, I'm probably doing something wrong here,
I went ahead and applied the cep22_v1.tlk file as recommended, but it didn't seem to do anything. I even did a rebuild on my module to try and see if it did anything. Still can't get the doors to appear in the toolset.
EDIT: Okay, something DID get fixed, the CEP graphics are now displaying, but the doors are still missing (Including the Area Transition No Door).

Cep 2.3 is out
is anyone working on a merge for prc and cep 2.3?
thnx
-
I'm :P
Edit: Actually I've already made it (and PRC/Project Q merge as well). Those will be released with PRC 3.3h rc1. (very soon, hopefully)
-
its on svn?
i think not, but it will be uploaded to there before the release?
-
It should be, but it isn't. The most recent version I did is there. The merge sub-project stuff is at /daprc/nwn/prccomp/trunk/ rather than being under nwnprc though.
-
Those will be released with PRC 3.3h rc1. (very soon, hopefully)
FYI, I have a lot of improvements for Shifter (PnP), Warblade, and Shining Blade of Heironeous classes that it would be nice to get into that release, but I likely won't have time to finish working out some kinks in the Shifter (PnP) changes until this weekend.
-
I haven't uploaded my merge to the SVN yet, because it's not compatible with PRC 3.3g (some things have changed since that version). So it's quite useless until the release.
-
Got everything so far working aside from the doors, they're still not showing up.
If anyone has any ideas on how to get the CEP 2.2 doors visible again, please let me know. I'm still having a ton of trouble getting those to work since a number of the areas in my module really need specific door types.
EDIT: Disregard this message, managed to fix the bug myself! Doors are working properly!

Hrrmm, with new CEPv2.3 and new PRC 3.3G, get The module and custom content tlk files that cannot be merged. The module update will be aborted.
I guess there is no easy fix then.
Anyway, I did get Caereena-Krakona Rising to allow PRC, but module is designed to give custom items based on Default classes. Major bummer as I finally finished major quest and recieved, "NOTHING".
Shadow's Quietus II has installed PRC, yet to test it.
Nordock Genesis 2009 has installed PRC, yet to test it.
Couldn't find too many modules allowing merge... Bummer
-
so is there a working version for CEP 2.3 and PRC 3.3hHrc1 merge hak and tlk ?
i have tried to get a number f different merge haks for cep and prc to work but for some reason i cant seem to get things working.
so i decided to start from scratch and try to get this working again.

I am having the same issue. Anyone have a suggestion for a solution?

Try taking a backup copy of your module before adding the PRC to it? If you did so take the backup copy and go to the custum content tab. Removed the tlk file from the tlk slot. You will want nothing their quit out of it now. The module will try and rebuild but it does not need to so click cancel. Save it as something else and now try adding the PRCCEP2 to the module.
This should get rid of most of the merge files if not all of them.
If you did not backup the modules first the PRCUpdater should of done so. In the same folder of the module their should be a YourModule.prc.backupmod file. That is a copy of your module before the PRCUpdater messed it up. Make sure to create a backup of this somewhere else. You can rename the backup files to .mod and they will work as normal modules. Use a copy of one of them(always backup stuff before you do major edits just trying to get the idea in your head) and try doing the import like I suggested.

I did eventually find the issue I was having. It was in a hak above the cep and below the merge hak. I made a minor change to said hak and bam I got all the cep2.3 creatures .
-
If you removed the default tlk file it wont create a merge. The merge tlk is only needed if a server has custome tlk files. If your using the stock CEP tlk their wont be issues.

Was it the appearance 2da from the prccomp hak? Because that seems to be what is creating the issue.

PRC Companion is not supported any more!!! Don't use it with PRC 3.0 and higher versions.

no it was a custom creature hak i made to use a number of lord of worms creature appearances. it had a appearance2da that overrode the cep's appearance 2da due to hak placement. the appearance2da in the creature hak was not really needed with some minor adjustments to the merge hak i got everything working quite well. now to start setting switches lol here goes another couple weeks of work to look forward to.

If I am not mistaken this got added by the module updater.
