Help / Shifter and Intuitive Strike
« on: August 17, 2010, 07:37:10 PM »
Yeah, original form (mostly because Tomi has a death wish and I can't heal him in any other form.)

I'll take a look at the combat log, see what's going on.

Edit: Well, while looking at the combat log, everything adds up, and correctly at that. Note to self: Don't look at the Character pane in the future for this kind of thing. Thanks for the assistance (and the feat. It's INCREDIBLE for [good] shifters.

Help / Shifter and Intuitive Strike

Well, I wasn't taking Nature Sense's +2 into account, but I don't think I should have had an attack bonus of +17 (listed in the character panel, anyway) with a Desert Wind +1 Scimitar. STR 10, Wis 20. I have trouble replicating this though...sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. I noticed this in the Ogre/Troll/Orc caves in the Port Llast area, if that helps. I think Resting may have something to do with it, as well as unequipping a weapon and reequipping it. But ... the game DID end up crashing a short while after I noticed this, maybe something else was wrong.

Help / Shifter and Intuitive Strike

I noticed that intuitive strike is acting rather oddly on my shifter character... sometimes I have (simultaneously) an attack bonus and penalty, sometimes I only have an attack bonus, and sometimes I think it is double or even triple adding my bonus.

Another question about the feat: if your strength is higher (say from a Greater Wildshape) than your wisdom, does it use your strength instead?

Hello again! I've recently got everything working (thanks for the help!) and I whipped up a changeling druid, going for Shifter. I noticed something odd though when I started the game. My character doesn't make any sound while casting. I don't know if this is a druid thing or a race thing, but my gut says that it has to do with using a nonstandard race. Is this a bug, a known issue, or something silly, like me not having the right volume settings?

EDIT: I should clarify, I did remember to select a voice when using the creator, and that voice CAN be heard ingame, though only when using the voice commands...not during combat.

Biobug.  Only the first 6 races in races.2da make casting vocalizations.

So this is normal and there's nothing I can do about it? Very well...Thanks for the help. Got to love hardcoding, eh?

Help / PRC CC Failing to Launch
« on: July 12, 2010, 03:09:02 PM »
Nope... still exists at the same point, right after everything finishes loading, the program stops. I've got every file in the folder running in compatibility mode and still nothing. Also, it's odd... when I delete the creator, re-download, an open it again, it has my haks and the tlk ready in settings. Could there be something wrong with the list of haks that the CC is loading?

How many haks should be selected? All of the available ones? Sorry for the incompetence on my part.

EDIT: I found the error. I had the Premium modules that come with Diamond haks selected. Don't do that. It makes things wig out.

Help / PRC CC Failing to Launch
« on: July 11, 2010, 05:43:36 PM »
Hello, just got NWN Diamond, and from my experience with other games, I looked into the mod community, and I saw this excellent pack. I got rather excited to use all this. My only issues: I can't create characters from level 1 with the new races and classes. Then I found out that that's because of how NWN is coded, and you need to use the Character Creators to get around that. Understandable. I download everything, extract it, follow the instructions, and it will not actually... launch. First it forms a text file saying "Java is not recognized as an internal or external command as an internal or external command..." A quick Google search shows me how to fix that. Then I try again... And the GUI launches, which is a good sign. I go to settings, include all the necessary files, and it loads the dialog.tlk, and then the prc_consortium.tlk, and then it closes. I try again, this time making the batch file, and this time it opens a console box as well as the GUI. Things proceed to load as normal, and then some extra text pops up in the console, and then everything closes and I'm stuck.

I got a screen capture of the text and have attached it to this post. Can anyone help?

EDIT: Oh, and I tried to just make a character using the default options and I was able to take feats that I was not qualified to do (Psionic feats as a Druid, Metabreath feats without a breath weapon, Dragonwrought as a human, etc.) Is this normal behavior for the mod or did something get messed up somewhere?

Also, I am running Windows 7 if that helps people identify the problem. I can run in compatibility mode just fine.
