Help / Character Size

Okay this one should be simple to answer. I've made a Krynn Half-Ogre and naturally I wish him to be larger. I used Leto PRC and selected a scaled model, but the charater was then invisible. I notice there is an enlarge person spell in PRC. Does that actually increase the characters size? Is there a way I can use the console to make it permanently cast on my character?

Enlarge person doesn't actually scales the models, so it won't help you.

In Leto you need to select correct tail type after you choose scaled model. It should work than.

Okay, I got it working, I understand now. There is no way to actually scale the PC models that dynamically change for equipped items, then? Can't seem to select them for tail just NPCs. 'Tis unfortunate. Thanks again for your help. You guys are really awesome.

Okay, so I think I just figure it out. It seems to be working now. Honestly I'm not sure why I didn't think of this sooner. After DM Heartstroke advised me to change my ports I gleefully ran off and did so. What I didn't clue into was that Windows Firewall was allowing the ports I used to use but not the new ones. I hate Windows Firewall anyway. Sorry to waste your time guys.

OK so I tried a different cable, no dice. It can't be my hub its just over a week old and we were playing together on it before and our pings together are very low still roughly 013. I'm at a loss as to what else I should look at.... Just a note too, I'm obviously connecting to a different network with the internet to send these messages. We both disconnect from that network to play NWN multiplayer simply to avoid the game being posted on the internet altogether

That is a log right after the problem. I did not choose to log out of the game myself. I went from loading to the main menu.

So I've learned if I disconnect from every network I can load sucessfully, the problem is when I am on a network. My network's architechture is very simple, a laptop with an ethernet cable to a hub, and another laptop with an ethernet cable to the hub, with no internet connections. It definately is a hub, not a firewall. I'm getting to the point  that I'm actually planning to swap out my ethernet cables to see if one is broken maybe. Of that I am skepital though, because we can see each other's computers with windows, and we can see each other's games in NWN.

Help / Question about time outs

I doubt it is a hardware problem as we were playing together on these laptops before, then it seemingly just stopped
working one day. However our hardware remains unchange and neither of us are having any other problems, regardless of that I am running on a 1.66 Ghz Intel Atom N450 (thats 2 CPUs) with 1 gig of ram. Using the built in Intel GMA 3150. This is definately the lower of the two specs but it is certainly adequate for NWN, as I've had no slow down issues as of yet, and I've put in a lot of ours both SP and MP with my GF on these systems. Server logs I'll put in another post in a few minutes.

Help / Question about time outs
« on: October 21, 2010, 03:17:23 PM »
No, sorry, I mean when I use the ingame multiplayer menu and choose host an internet/LAN game, I wait for it to unpack the module, and then I get booted back to the main menu with "Server response timed out You have been disconnected". I'm not using the stand alone server program at all. When we set up her laptop as the server, after I choose a character, I sit on a blank screen for 2 or 3 minutes and then either get "Server response timed out You have been disconnected" or straight out crash. I was having this issue for the first time 2 days ago, so I uninstalled NWN and installed it fresh, no premium content, no gamespy, and then installed PRC and ran first PRC Pack then ocfix. Still having the same problem now.
Sorry I didn't go into more detail like that before hand, I'd hoped there'd be a simple answer like "you can change this setting in nwnplayer.ini" or "you can decompress the module with 7zip and put it in this folder and the game wont have to decompress it anymore". :(

Help / Question about time outs
« on: October 21, 2010, 02:49:07 PM »
Well, we both just uninstalled and reinstalled NWN and we're hard wired to each other through a hub, not a firewall, with no internet in the connection. So I was thinking the disconnect was because my computer would not be communicaating while loading and then timing out on the response. I can't even host a game, like I said my laptop drops itself from its own game because of a time out.

Help / Question about time outs

So it seems that my crappy laptop just takes too long to load and that is a cause of a myriad of MP disconnects with my girlfriend. so, what I would like to know is if there is any way I can force a serving computer to wait longer before dropping a player? Even why I try to host myself my own laptop disconnects. If thats not possible, my computer does hang up on unpacking module for quite a while, is it possible to decompress the module so my game doesn't have to?

I didn't know that. Thanks for that tidbit. I'll change the port on mine right away then.

Yeah, it seems something happened to the save files, as now we can't even load in together without my game crashing. At least I know what it was now. Thank you for helping. Its really great that you guys actively try to help out with the user's problems.

Help / You have no castings of spells of level 0 remaining
« on: October 19, 2010, 04:45:14 AM »
oh, sorry. I thought it was indeed attached. I'll try that again. It may no longer matter though, as there has been a new development. Now, whenever I try to join her game, at the point when my computer should be loading, my computer sits on a blank screen for a while and then crashes. We can see my character icon in her party for a while, then it disappears, probably due to timeout as my program is locking up. So at this point, I don't care if I can't cast hexblade spells if I can't even play.

Help / You have no castings of spells of level 0 remaining
« on: October 19, 2010, 04:26:35 AM »
I am attempting to cast spells like Hexblade Magic Weapon. One interesting thing of note is that when I choose to use the character file stored on my computer instead of on her save there are no spells listed at all. Attached is my most recent bik. The game saves are on her computer though.

So, on both computers, I redownloaded the .exe installer, then opened it with 7zip and overwrote my database, erf, hak, tlk, and prcpack. Still getting the same message. Any other things to try?

Help / You have no castings of spells of level 0 remaining
« on: October 18, 2010, 08:28:20 PM »
So, I am playing a game online with my girlfriend. We're both using laptops over our home network. She is serving the game and playing at the same time. I have been having a problem with my Hexblade for a while now... started the first time I loaded a game. When I gained a level and learned to cast spells I could use them. Now, even after I rest, when I attempt to cast a spell I see "You have no castings of spells level 0 remaining". I still see the spells on my radial menu. If we start a chapter anew I can choose my spells then, and they'll work until we load. I found a fix for a similar issue on this forum (an update for prc_spells that was supposed to remove some anti cheat code) that I installed on both computers to no avail. So, whats the next step? Is there a way I can just force it to let me choose my spells again?
