I've never been into caster types, but I'd like to try one out.  Before I got ahold of the PRC, I tried playing through with a Sorc/RDD build.  I didn't like the fact that I had no melee ability once I ran out of spells.  So while I was perusing the prestige classes, I saw the War Mage class in the Base Classes section.  Figured this was a pretty cool, especially because in PnP they get the evocation spells of the Sorc but with an actual melee ability.  So, in keeping with this idea, I'd like some suggestions on builds that maximize both my spellcasting and melee ability.  I was considering a Lich build, but I'm not sure I want to spend that kind of money every time I level up.  So I'd like some ideas on Prestige classes to go into, feat selections and a good race to try.  I don't want a race that completely breaks the game (like the ones with SR 27 + CL or DR 20/+5).  Also, does anyone know if there's a mod that removes the three class limit?
