Alternate Magic Systems / Psionic Meditation

I apologize if this is the incorrect forum to ask.

I decided to pickup Psionic Meditation, and it seems to do nothing that regular Focus would allow me to do. Now maybe I misunderstood the intent of the feat, but I was under the impression I would be able to gain focus through Meditation and then cast a power in the same round. As it stands, meditation still seems to take a full round like regular Focus.

What gives?

Sorry for the necro.

You mention Outsiders can't be Liches, but what about hybrids? In particular, the Tiefling (outsider/human hybrid).

Ended up trying it myself and was unable to become a Lich, so I was curious if that was working as intended and I just need to stick to the vanilla Human race or what.

Only issue seems to be it doesn't count the added levels from Wild Surge. I did some searching prior to creating this topic and it seems like Overchannel doesn't work either, which leads me to believe it wouldn't be an easy fix, if it could be done at all. Other than cheating up levels equal to my wildsurge and creating the construct, then reverting back of course.

Otherwise, it seems to work fine. Thanks!

I tried making a shaper psion, and choosing the level of my construct works just fine there.

I also tried gaining several levels beyond when I chose expanded knowledge to see if maybe it wasn't counting my manifester levels prior, but I was still only able to create a level 1 construct.

Playing a wilder, and decided to take Expanded Knowledge and grab Astral Construct. My only issue is I can't seem to modify its level through Astral Construct options. I'm a level 5 wilder with Max Augment toggeled and Wild Surge 2 on, so I should be able to make a 4th level Construct I think. Nothing shows up under the level dialogue option so I can't even choose level 2 or 3.

After talking with a friend, it sounds like PNP does allow multiple summons from spells, and not just animate dead/etc.

Concerning the Lich and Demilich templates, it sounds like they just give what a 4 and 10 levels in Lich would give, respectively. At least that's what it's supposed to be, I think. I noticed a few other differences, like the Demilich template gets a ton of spell-like abilities, has less damage reduc (15/epic and bludgeoning for the template vs 30/+20 for the class), and maybe some more things I missed. Does that sound right? If so, what would be the point to the lich class?

2)I found the 'Wipe new spellbook' after setting PRC_DEBUG to 1, it was on the 2nd page of the PRC options and not under misc options. It doesn't seem to do anything though, and i still had my chosen spells.

3) I'm not totally sure what version I had before, but I updated to the newest (3.5). Not a huge deal really since I wasn't that far into OC, so I ended up just restarting.

5)I found your post at the bottom of . I switched animate dead and permanent undead to 1, but I still could only have one summon. Switching Multisummon to 1 as well and I could have multiple. I'm a little hesitant to leave that on since I don't play PnP, and I'm not totally aware of the rules. Not sure if you can have multiple of other summons, or just animate dead, create dead, and create dead. If that's the only way to get it to work, then I'll live.

7) Any idea on Leadership?

8 ) I wanted to see what all the code switches did, so I extracted prc_inc_switch.nss like you mentioned in but I have no idea how to open .nss files.

I have a few issues/questions.

1.) I was under the impression Dread Necromancers knew all their spells yet I noticed I didn't have a few I was supposed to. At level 3, I was prompted to choose one level 1 or level 2 spell that i didn't have. What's the deal?

2.) If it was working as intended, is there any way to rechoose my spells? I tried just reducing my XP through the console and then releveling, but that didn't work.

3.) Last night I updated my PRC installation. When I loaded up my save, all of my DN spells were replaced with various spells from Knight of the Middle Circle and Justice of Weald and Woe. I ended up completely reinstalling NWN+PRC incase maybe I screwed up the update somehow, but I still have the spells as I did after the update. I ended up restarting my game since I wasn't in too far, and that has fixed it. Still curious though, any idea what happened?

4.) When leveling up, I noticed I could not choose the Craft Wondrous Items feat. What's the deal? I know DN get it naturally at a later level, is it because of that?

5.) Undead mastery states:
 "In addition, when a dread necromancer uses the animate dead spell to create undead, she can control 4 + her Charisma bonus HD worth of undead creatures per class level (rather than the 4 HD per level normally granted by the spell). "
Which lead me to believe I could control more than one Skeleton Chieftan, yet when I recast it the Chieftan is replaced. What's the deal?

6.) I'm sort of confused with the Lich template and Lich class. What's the deal with each?

7.) While messing around with a higher level character and not taking leadership till epic levels, I noticed I was summoning cohorts much higher level than myself. Like at level 29, I was getting level 40 cohorts. When I releveled and picked Leadership at 6, the cohort matched my level all the way up through epic levels. In both cases, neither should have advanced past level 17 w/o epic leadership. What's the deal?

Spells, Feats, and Skills / Adding Insightful Strike to another class

A little bored, I decided I wanted to 'create' a 'super' class, which pretty much just consisted of adding new feats/level, more skills/level,  change the class skills, and switch the Wizard's BAB progression to 3/4.

Now my problem is adding Insightful Strike. I got it on level up no problem after a little fiddling around, yet it adds no additional damage to my rapier while in light armor.

After further looking around, it seemed the Insightful Function script was tied to the Swashbuckler class itself. What I ended up doing was opening the prc_include.hak, extracting prc_alterations.nss, as well as opening the prc_scripts.hak and extracting prc_swashbuckler.nss.

I edited the prc_alterations.nss, added
case CLASS_TYPE_WIZARD:                       return "prc_wiz2";

I opened up prc_swashbuckler.nss and deleted everything but lines 1,  44 to 79, 138 to 144, 161 to 162, and 71. I also edited line 144 to
int iClass = GetLevelByClass(CLASS_TYPE_WIZARD,oPC);
and renamed the file to prc_wiz2.nss.

I added each to their own .hak again (not before backing up the originals), and yet Insightful Strike still does nothing. Now I have virtually no scripting experience, so I may be going about this completely the wrong way or I may in fact be in way over my head. Either way, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help / Spell sneak attacks?

I never turned anything off afaik, nor do I know how to, so unless they're off by default they should be on.

I was testing it on the dummies in the Academy prologue, and it didn't work on any of them. When I would do a regular attack from the same position I would get a sneak attack.

I was reading and decided I would roll an Arcane Trickster build.

I am currently a 1 wizard/1 rogue, and yet I don't seem to be getting sneak attacks on my spells.  I have tried both Burning Bolt (ranged touch), and Shocking Grasp (melee touch), yet both do standard damage when I would've gotten a sneak attack through a regular attack.

What seems to be the deal?

Help / Semi-permanent -4 attack?

Playing as an Aasimar cleric, level 3 in the peninsula district.

Whenever I equip my greataxe and then rest, I get a semi-permanent -4 to attack. It'll go away until my next rest if I unequip it for a few seconds and then reequip.

I have Martial Weapon prof+Great Axe focus granted through my War domain, so it's not that. Does not happen with simple weapons.

Help / Rod of Fast Buffing

After awhile of searching, I finally find out the Rod of Fast Buffing by Loudent isn't compatible with the PRC(src: This post is a little over a year old, so I decided to make a post and ask if there has been a workaround, or possibly a different mod created that will do the same thing?
