I believe that is WAI. Tieflings are considered Outsiders with the native subtype.

Help / java.io.EOFException ???
« on: March 28, 2013, 05:52:02 PM »
I am running NWN 1.69 w/ SoU&HoTU on a Windows 7 64-bit laptop, and when I get to portraits on the character creator, I get the error "Error reading po_**_*_01_m.tga. Out of Memory. Error: java.io.EOFException"

I looked through the forum, and couldn't find anything. Help?

Spells, Feats, and Skills / Re: Swordsage discipline flaw

Well, actually, that's functioning in Rules as Written. If you want to get the full benefit from the weapon(s) in question, you'll have to get the proficiency. It's just how the class feature works.

Builders / Alignment Restrictions
« on: March 01, 2013, 01:37:16 PM »
Alright, I'm writing up the Incarnum classes for NWN2 (and possibly may backport them for the PRC) and I've run into a speed bump...I can't figure out how to swing the alignment restriction for Incarnate, which requires you to be neutral on only one axis, not 2, and not zero. I'm going ghetto for now and just using "No Neutral Inverted" (AlignRestrict 0x01, AlignRstrctType 0x0, InvertRestrict 1). Is it possible to do LN/CN/NG/NE only, or would I have to script it?

Spells, Feats, and Skills / Re: Problem with choosing Spells by Levelup
« on: January 26, 2013, 12:49:52 PM »
Did you make sure you has a high enough ability score for new spells of those levels?

Their starting level is their LA + their class level. Racial HD are not figured into it. If you start as a Sarrukh Fighter, you are ECL 9 (Fighter 1/LA 8), but you possess 15 HD.

General Discussion / Re: Alternate Class Features: Worth the efforts?
« on: January 08, 2013, 03:17:59 PM »
Well, if it gets the okay, I'd be happy to include the ones from Magic of Incarnum, but I'm wondering what others are in demand.

EDIT: Additionally, it'd probably be easiest to stat with the Incarnum ones, as the things they affect are either well-documented, or not coded yet.

LA Does indeed work as you think (Fighter 1 Drow is a level 2 character). ACL is your class levels plus your LA.

However, while often related, racial HD is not the same as LA.

For example, a Hound Archon possesses 6d8 racial HD, but only has a Level Adjustment of +5.

General Discussion / Alternate Class Features: Worth the efforts?
« on: January 08, 2013, 02:28:04 PM »
I'm curious...Would Alternate Class features be difficult to code? And if so, would they be worth coding? The question came up in my (slow-going but still progressing!!! Wish me luck!) work with Incarnum.

I suppose one way it could work is that you could choose it as a bonus feat (probably a subradial selection from X Class Alternate Features), and then if you don't meet racial etc. requirements, you'd be forced to re-level. Just a guess.

Prestige Classes / Re: Incantatrix and/or Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil
« on: January 07, 2013, 08:00:22 AM »
I have played with a Red Wizard before, and it is implemented in the PRC, it gets taken as a feat to determine which spell school is prohibited.

If that's the case, that means, hopefully, that it's just one more piece of code we can recycle instead of writing whole cloth.

Alternate Magic Systems / Re: Coming Eventually...

Thanks. Funny thing, you don't "take" soulmelds. You know all the melds on your list and shape them after resting. the "Shape Soulmeld" feat may need some testing, however. It'll be hell to code.

one of the incarnum rules is that spellcaster (ALL of them) recharge their magic spells at a certain rate, without resting. said speed depends on - spontaneous or not/divine or arcane -  spellcaster
That's an Unearthed Arcana rule, not MoI.

UPDATE: I will be able to start work (lost what I had in a toddler attack) as of this edit (12/28/2012). I will need a volunteer(s) to test the actual gameplay, however, as I have an "Ess-Star-Star-Tee" computer when it comes to graphics. Merry/Happy one or more of these.

...Maybe. I'd have to re-download the PRC stuff, and I'd need to get my laptop fixed (The computer I'm posting from can barely handle vanilla NWN).
