I recently installed the PRC on both my computers, and my wife and I successfully created our characters with CC 1.8.

Problem with it is that while I can play with them when I start a new game (via single player), I can not load or join a LAN game with either one. In single player, the characters classes and stats show up correctly (forget if the race does).

But when I try to load up a character for multiplayer, it shows up "Barbarian" for any of the extra classes and it's ability scores show 40+, and when I try to join a or even start a LAN game, it says "Player login refused: Bad Strref". Yes, I disabled "Enforce Legal Characters".

But again, when I try to load the existing game multiplayer where that PRC character is native from, it will properly load, and the scores will appear normal when selecting the character for a new game in single player, so I'm thinking there's something that needs to be done to the multiplayer files, as it works normal otherwise.

I read that "once you get in, it will be normal", but I can't even get into multiplayer with the characters.

Any help appreciated!

"Player login refused: Bad Strref".
You guys have the exact same version of the PRC TLK file, right?

Yes, I disabled "Enforce Legal Characters".

Did you disable ILR as well?

Yes I did, even though I thought that would have little to none to do with it preventing me from logging in.
I also manually went through nwnplayer.ini to make sure they were "=0"

Update: I figured out it's doing it ONLY when I try to load a game that was saved with an original character BEFORE PRC was installed.
But I don't want to have to go through most of a chapter again, lol!

Actually it can.  Glad you figured your problem out though.

Thanks, but I wish there was an idea for a further remedy to the problem, in other words, a way to still be able to load PRC characters on saves created before PRC being involved: Even if they don't fix the bug where you can't log into a non-PRC game on multiplayer, I feel like a way was somehow created to import a character into a non-PRC original game, it could help bypass it.

In other words, I feel like a program to convert non-PRC character games to accept or import PRC characters into it would be in order, to have a way to bypass it in a way, without inconveniencing people who want to play regular, by allowing people who DO to reprocess the save, if what I'm saying makes sense here?

I'm not sure how if that would work, no idea how the save files are set up.
