Hello all.

I was playing with the idea of creating persistent world, where my old-times pnp players could just hang around together, play sometimes and stuff. NWN wasn't quite the tool due to lack of depth and choices. Recently I get to know about PRC - and it seems that's the way.

So my problems are: It seems that newest version of the PRC is 3.3h rc2 right? But when I'm looking for server tools, I can't find an equivalent. And the manual here is for 3.1, so about two versions older. What should I use for server? Paired with what version for clients? I prefer to stay with the Linux dedicated server.
And the second problem - only the base classes appear as available at character creation are those built-in, even if module has PRC installed. How can I unlock PRC ones? Or if I can, how could I strip character from the class he has, to make him "level-up" to first level in the module?

Hope those are just little problems. If I asked something that's already in some manual, please link me to that manual - I was looking for it.

PRC 3.3h rc2 is the newest version, and the current version of PRC Sever Pack is 1.8.1. You can find all the tools you need on our vault page: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7870

Unfortunately Sever Pack was prepared only for servers working under Windows. No Linux version AFAIK.

On-line manual (http://www.nwnprc.com//nwn/index.html) is current. Wrong version number is just an oversight from our part (will be fixed on next update).

If you want to select new base classes at 1 lvl you need to use special character creator program (because of NWN limitations).

You can find all needed information in the manual - 'installation' section.
If you had any further questions you can ask them here ;)

Character creator program would not work if I want to have server-side characters only - right?
And can I use PRC module without an server pack, then?

The PRC contains something that is called ConvoCC - conversation driven character creator (which works server side) but to use it you need NWNX and plugins provided in Server Pack.

Server Pack is mostly needed for ConvoCC to work, so if you find compatible plugins for linux it should work. And if you don't want to use ConvoCC you may not even need it.

What exactly is the difference?  The precacher doesn't work under Linux or something?
