I use it on a Mac, and it mostly works fine, except that I haven't gotten the Character Creator to work--I still run that on Windows an copy the character over to the Mac.

What do you mean it doesn't run? What were you trying to do that didn't work?

I too had problems with installation on my mac. I would prefer to run in MacOSX, but I can't actually play in PRC persistent worlds when playing on my mac, so I boot into Windows and play that way.

Other worlds seem to work fine, its just PRC worlds that fail to work. I get a time out error every time I try to enter the one I play most. Basically, I did the same thing as the poster above..I did a manual install by placing the files in the correct folders. I heard that the haks need to be all lower case, so I tried that and it seemed to fail as well.

I did not changed the case of the files names, only the folder Tlk that I have named like "Tlk". With the other files, I did nothing.

I think OSX's default filesystem is not case sensitive like most linux/unix ones. But I have never used OSX.

Here's something to try. Move the PRC haks, don't copy them. I have heard that OSX makes symlinks when copying files, and NWN might not handle those.

Try looking for help over at the Bioware Mac subforum too.

This is an option you can choose when you format a hard drive. The default is case insensitive, but you can choose case sensitive if you wish.

Not sure what you're remembering (there might be some special software or circumstances that makes this happen), but a normal file copy will not make symlinks.

More details about what's not working would be helpful--what are you trying and how is it not working? Is it just the timeout error you mentioned before with PRC persistent worlds? Does it work in single-player modules?

Good to know, but how many people here would be doing that on a laptop? I'm not going to count the iMac, because I have never seen one used outside a campus. Installing NWN to a flash drive would be unwise -- leaving external harddrives, which aren't too uncommon I suppose.

Now that I think more about it, I believe it was an XCode discrepancy that was told to me a while back. I don't remember what happened, except that he lost some project files or something. Sorry for the bad info!

i've never played a single player mod, so I am not sure, actually. When I've done an install I've copied a working Win install files (haks et al included) and it starts up as expected, I am able to log into nonPRC worlds, but not PRC. Its very strange to me.

SP mod.

Do you have any custom overrides installed? What PRC version is the server running? What PRC version are *you* using? Did you install patch 1.69?
